Golf Gifts For Him (Or Her)
Also: Golf Gift Baskets
Golf is one of the top leisure pursuits in the world, so if your husband, boyfriend, or other male friend or relative is a keen golfer, or even a beginner in the sport, why not consider a golf gift for him? I say for "him", but really this can apply to "her" too, as most of the golf gifts are equally appropriate for the millions of lady golfers around the world.
When it comes to choosing a Christmas golf gift, or one for any other time of the year, the choice is wide and varied. You can choose something for him that will help to improve his golf game, something just to remind him of golf, or to help his fitness to help to improve both his game and enjoyment level. Then there are mementoes and ornaments with a golf theme, technical gadgets to keep him amused (and improve his game?) or even just to relax and read about golf, its venues and its characters.

There are many gift possibilities for golfers who need, or you think need, to improve their game. Sometimes just a change of putter or even a golf swing glove (see left) will do the trick, enough to make him feel more relaxed, comfortable or confident enough to shave a little off his handicap.
Instructional golf videos can make a popular golf gift for those who accept they can improve. There are many around, from the likes of David Leadbetter and Bobby Jones, and they will be something to keep him occupied in the dark winter weekends.
One good thing about golf gifts is the good range (excuse the pun) you can find under $50. Books and videos, of course, plus tee packs, wrist bands, jewellery and a whole load more. Even the gadget on the left, the golf ball sweet spot finder, is way under $50; about half in fact.
The way a golfer dresses can make a difference to his game, especially in adverse weather. As an outside game, there is no
escaping the elements, and rain can cause a lot of discomfort and high scores. Lightweight jackets that are easy to fold and carry, such as the one on the left, are a boon, and make good golfers gifts. Shoes, pants and t-shirts are possibilities also, though many will be off season at Christmas.
If you want to go upmarket a bit for the gift, there is still a good choice above $50, as you would expect.
You can also go hi-tech if he is keen on that sort of thing and likes gadgets. He may even improve his game and speed things up a little while he is on the course; no more dithering over which is the best club to use. How? A global positioning system, such as the one right, designed for golfers and only golfers, could be just the thing he needs. Now for the less hi-tech minded, that really is an unusual gift for him. But you never know, if he can get round quicker, he may even be home quicker.
